This past Saturday members came out to lend their help in digging a trench to run wires for security cameras.
Thank you to all the club members who came out to help to make our club the best in the area. We couldn’t do it without you.
This past Saturday April 10th club members came out and did a bunch of improvements at the range on the clubs spring work day. The range building was organized and shelves were built to accommodate all the props, targets and more that make our matches the best in the area. The range building is now ready for the upcoming shooting season at Wayne County Raccoon Hunters. Thanks to all the members who came out to make our club even better.
First, the new building construction has been completed. Let the tweaking begin.
Second, based on Scott’s reading of Gov. Whitmer ‘s latest Executive Order to Shelter in home, there are exemptions that would allow for some outdoor recreation.
Unless someone is reading this differently than I am, I think we are good to keep the ranges open for individual members ONLY (no guests), and any members must maintain a 6-foot distance from any other members anywhere on the property. One member to a pistol bay at a time to maintain the required distance of 6 feet. I am going to make an assumption here that a wife/husband (member/associate member only – no guests!) can co-exist in a pistol bay together under this Order but that is only an assumption at this point. The Clubhouse and range house will remain closed during this time.
Rifle range note:
2 people maximum in the rifle enclosure, and the two must maintain an open bench between them along with the 6-feet minimum distance anywhere else. No member/associate member taking up the space. Be courteous to others wishing to shoot.
Now, this is only if you absolutely must go and put some rounds down range! It would still be best to stay at home and hunker down to ride out this virus. If you really have to go out, do it safely and responsibly.
If anything changes, and I am sure it will, we will post the latest changes on the website and in an email blast to members.
The new range building is up and awaiting electrical. Electrical should be complete by the end of this week. The range is closed until the building is completed.
The ranges will be officially closed for all sanctioned group events up through April 5th. USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, including any classes scheduled to use the facilities in that time frame. The ranges will remain open for members and their guests with the understanding that members use common sense when inviting their guests and agree to keep a fair and reasonable distance from other shooters who may be on the ranges, common areas and parking lot.
The cement has been poured, the clean up completed and the equipment removed. The new building is scheduled to arrive and construction should take place on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17. If all goes as planned the electrical will be performed on Wednesday, March 18, although it is possible that a second day may be required.
We are almost there!
We have been advised by the contractor for the Wick Road project that beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, the eastbound side of Wick Road will be closed and only the westbound side will remain open. Once the eastbound side has been completed, then the westbound side will be closed. We were told the entire project would take approximately three (3) months. We will also post this information on our website. As soon as we learn when the swap will take place, we will send you an update.
